You may recall the announcement from Valve on their own video game console. This console, unlike the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, would have multiple entry levels. Valve believes that entertainment isn’t a one size fits all, instead there should be multiple choices. Those lucky few who have managed to get in on the beta tester list have started to receive their consoles. See what one of these consoles looks like and a video unboxing after the jump.
Valve has partnered up with several manufacturers to bring out different Steam Machine models. To better ensure their quality of their Steam OS and how well the consoles go over, 300 beta testers were chosen and sent prototype Steam Machine consoles, all stacked with varying components within the system. Inside the package includes a Steam Machine, HDMI cable, USB Cable, Steam controller, power cord, WiFi antenna and a recovery USB drive with Steam OS loaded inside.
The Steam Machine shown includes a 3.20GHz Intel i5-4570 processor, 16GB of RAM, Zotac GTX 780 GPU, 3GB of video memory, an ASRock Z87E-ITX motherboard and lastly a Silverstone ST45SF power supply. You can watch the unboxing video down below.
